  • Created in 1994 by Rasmus Lerdorf.
  • In june of 1995 source code for PHP to public.
  • In 1996, Rasmus introdued PHP/F1
  • In june PHP/F1 was given a version 2.0 status.
  • In nov 1997 the underlying parsing engine was already being entirely rewritten.
